This is an exciting opportunity to join the Freshwater Habitats Trust’s New Forest team, delivering practical, landscape‑scale freshwater conservation projects across the National Park.

The role will focus on identifying, developing and delivering habitat creation and restoration projects to improve freshwater biodiversity at a catchment scale. This will include undertaking catchment walkover surveys to identify issues and opportunities, and working closely with landowners, technical specialists and a wide range of stakeholders to design and implement effective interventions—including habitat creation, restoration and nutrient management.

The postholder will lead on developing project work plans, securing necessary consents and licences, and managing contractors through delivery. Alongside this, the role will involve full project and financial management responsibilities, including budget oversight, reporting against targets, and liaising with funders.

Strong stakeholder engagement is key, with the role also representing the Trust at meetings and contributing to partnerships across the New Forest. This is a varied role combining practical conservation delivery with project leadership, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on freshwater environments.

Are you passionate about using GIS and data to support nature recovery? Do you have strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail and an interest in freshwater conservation?

We are seeking a GIS & Data Support Officer to help deliver high-quality habitat for great crested newts and wider biodiversity.

This full-time, three-year fixed-term role will support the Data and Monitoring Team in maintaining accurate spatial and tabular datasets, developing and supporting GIS tools and workflows, and ensuring robust reporting to our funder and Natural England.

Working closely with our conservation delivery team, you will support the development and completion of compensation sites, maintain ArcGIS and QGIS tools, assist with data collection systems such as Survey123 and Field Maps, and help troubleshoot GIS-related issues. The role would suit someone with a strong understanding of GIS principles, experience managing datasets, good Excel skills, and a meticulous, consistent approach to data quality.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Newt Conservation Partnership and contribute directly to practical nature recovery through high-quality habitat creation and monitoring.

We are looking for someone to help power frontline freshwater conservation. As Programme Administrator for the Central Area Regional Programme, you’ll keep the people, projects and partnerships moving — turning plans into action and action into lasting change for rivers, wetlands and wildlife.

Working with managers, project teams and partners, you’ll provide the essential coordination that keeps a busy conservation programme organised, responsive and on track.

You’ll help drive the programme by:

• Coordinating meetings, workshops and events
• Keeping records, reports, inboxes and databases sharp and up to date
• Supporting grants, contracts, invoices and procurement
• Tracking actions, deadlines and follow-ups so delivery stays on course

We need someone who brings:

• Excellent organisation and attention to detail
• Confidence juggling priorities, deadlines and people
• Initiative, clear communication and sound administrative experience
• Strong Microsoft Office and database skills, plus a collaborative approach

You don’t need to have a conservation background, but an interest in supporting work that helps protect and restore freshwater habitats would be a real advantage.
