The European Pond Conservation Network promotes the conservation of ponds and their biodiversity.
Individuals and organisations carrying out research and practical conservation projects across Europe come together under the EPCN banner. Every two years, a workshop is held to share the latest knowledge and the effectiveness of pond conservation projects.
Cov-19 Update – May Conference dates CANCELLED
With much regret, due to developments with coronavirus (Covid 19) both in the UK and overseas, we are forced to CANCEL the EPCN conference for the current dates of May 18-22, 2020. We have had some wonderful abstract submissions on ponds from all over the world and as it stands we are seeking to re-arrange the conference for this Autumn. The conference organising committee members are presently looking into mechanisms with regards to refunds and new dates for a 2020 conference. Go to the EPCN Website for more information.
In May 2008, the network published The Pond Manifesto, which aims to ‘provide a wake-up call to the importance of ponds and the outline of a strategy that will help us use, maintain and enjoy ponds in the decades ahead’.
