From January until May we are running our survey to collect important data on the location of breeding frogs and toads across the New Forest and beyond.
Join us, and get involved by recording both toad and frog spawn in your garden ponds, local community ponds, and any puddles, ponds, pools, and ditches you come across on your adventures in the New Forest and across the country.
Enter your information at the bottom of this page.
You can download the survey recording form, take a look at how to identify toad and frog spawn and learn how to find a grid reference for your survey pond below.
For our Spawn Surveys an accurate grid reference is required to locate the relevant water body.
Your survey findings will be fed into our WaterNet database where your data will be freely available for Government bodies, NGOs and local people to download to feed into local wildlife plans and other surveys. We will also pass all our records on to Record Pool, the national database on reptiles and amphibians in the UK.
