Rare Species Monitoring Surveys – Thames Region

HLF useThames Water LogoSurvey your local area for rare and unique freshwater plants and animals.

You can undertake rare species surveys throughout the Thames Water Region. Visit sites with existing records of a range of rare plants and animals to monitor their presence and success at a site.

No previous experience of species identification is needed. We offer training throughout the Thames Water Region on species identification where you can brush up on your knowledge before heading out on the hunt for rare species.

Each species is unique. This means they each have different survey methods and makes each survey a different experience.

Rare species you can survey:

Invertebrates

Plants

  • Opposite Leaved Pondweed – Groenlandia densa

All Survey Methods and Recording Forms will be available soon
